Elon Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, the company that created the ChatGPT tool. Which is so discussed today. The company emerged in 2016 and had the participation of Sam Altman and other investors who saw the importance of artificial intelligence for the future of humanity. After all, it is believed that many current problems will not be solved directly by us, but by machines.
These are the machines that will be able to cross-reference an absurd amount of information and conclude a solution, be it biological or simpler in our daily lives. In the beginning, OpenAI was a non-profit organization on paper. Something that Elon Musk agreed with and found important in order to develop something safe at the time.
Elon Musk vs OpenAI
OpenAI’s mission at its inception was to help humanity in a transparent way. Although the ChatGPT tool is interesting and is already helping people even before it is officially released to everyone. The company has been criticized for a lack of transparency, including by Elon Musk. The billionaire even joked in a tweet that “OpenAI had to be more Open”.
In this tweet below, Musk says he left the project because he disagreed with some objectives of the people involved, and he didn’t agree with part of the team. Furthermore, he also explained that he needed more time to dedicate himself to Tesla Motors. Which was increasing its investments in artificial intelligence. Tesla and OpenAI were already competing for the same employees, so it wasn’t making much sense.
